"Missoni gone wild" sounds like a PBS reality show.
Prone to wearing random pairings of plaid, I didn't understand the Missoni reference. This Wikipedia entry [link] enlightened me, and included this historical note:
"[The Missoni's] fame was assured in April 1967, when they were invited to show at the Pitti Palace in Florence. Rosita told the models to remove their bras, supposedly because they were the wrong colour and showed through the thin lamé blouses. The material became transparent under the lights and caused a sensation."
Right about this time Life magazine ran a set of designer drawings of "fashions of the future" representing a similar vision. It caused quite a sensation with me!
