Description
A fractal based on recursive replacements of octominos (eight squares) in a self-similar octomino pattern -- a discrete similarity tiling. The resulting figure has a fractal boundary that can tesselate the plane (cover with a periodic square grid of tiles).
It looks best in the download version (3400x3400 px.) where interior boundaries are visible, weighted to delineate the hierarchical construction.

This is both decorative and inspiring! Making fractals the "pixel art" way instead of by code is kind of cute.
